First of all the Higgs Feild is a yet unproven science, so it could be classed as psuedoscience-fair enough, yet CERN have spent 3.5 Billion and counting on the LHC, in a attempt to quatify and record the Higgs Particles.
But calling it a Higgs Feild is just giving something (yet) another name. You call call it "the force" and not be too far from what I belive in Or maybe even call it "Magic"
Like I say Giving something another name dosen't change it from what it is.
In a nutshell the Higgs feild is the ......well "Electromangentic" is the closest term..force we genaerate as living biodynamos, and how our own feild reacts with others and other geraerators.
In Woozles thread about Magic Powers he dosen't want, he and others talk about the effect on delicate electronic devices, And yes i've seen it too, devices with sillicon chips, that the chip is affectetd, now my own purely personal and unpoveable (so far) theory is that certan peoples feilds can affect the sillicon in the manner of a electrical surge or spike.
And then there is Negative Ions, again something that has been known about for centuries if not millenia, but only recenlty examinded and given a scientific set of parmeters.
In a nutshell Negative Ions are the particles that make us feel good, they boost the brainpower. The commonest source of Negative ions is a physical promity to a body of water. From the legend of Archimedies "Eureka" moment in the bath, to the relaxation we get from a shower. Negative Ions are part of the Humidity process as well, the feelings of tension and release we experice in Hot and Thundery weather.
Something I find intresting though is the relationsip between Negative Ions and certain types of Stone, Volcanic rock is rich in Neagtive ions, are are the dense types of stone....hmmm the Welsh Bluestone of Stonehenge maybe?
In Anglsea there is Ynys Llanddwyn, a place of several "Spiritual" monuments, A holy well, a church and a grave of St. Dwynwen, Ynys Llanddwyn is rich in the purple volcanic rock, as is much of Anglesa. Bangor usiversity has done sevral studies into the nature of the Rocks and the "Atmosphere" around the place, but like all good Academics have stopped short of publishing anything too conterversial as not to upset the next-years-funding-applecart
Its these things, these that science is only just starting to explore. But bear in mind gravity was still around and working before Issac Newton defined it.
To me its kinda intersting that Dan-bringing-conspiracy-theories-to-the-masses-Brown's, latest book, deals with a lot ot these new sciece/old knowlege concepts.
